WELLINGTON CENTRE

' DRAW FOR TOURNAMENT. The Wellington Bowling Centre met last night, Mr. 8. M. Stone presiding. The Internal Affairs Department advised that the request of the centre for Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of York to be present at the Wellington Club's green on Veterans' Gala Day would be fully considered when the Wellington programme was being drawn up. Mr. Stone stated that the Mayor had informed him that he did not hold out much hope of the centre's desire being acceded to. Mr. Stone was appointed the centre's representative on the committee being appointed to make arrangements for the Royal visit. Information was received from the Dominion Bowling Association that the Plimmerton Club had been granted affiliation. It" was agreed that 10th February would be a suitable date on which to accept a visit from Marlborough. Forty-six entries, it was reported, had been received for the centre tournament at Christmas time. The greens decided on for the tournament were Tliorndon, Wellington, Victoria, and Hataitai. The president stated that ithe entries were 14 less than last year, and he could not account for it. He was pleased to see that a rink had entered from Masterton, and added that the •entries were representative. The umpires on the various greens wcro appointed as a tournament committee to act with the secretary. The draw for the tournament was fixed as follows: — . SECTION A.
