CASE FOR ARBITRATION COURT.
(Received 14th December, 11 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. A conference of representatives of tho Federal Committee of Management of the Watersiders' Federation and the [Inter-State and Ovrsoa Ship Owners' I Association, convc < 1 by Mr. Justice ! Beeby, held a slio. t discussion, after which a statement was issued to the effect that tho Judge proposed that tho hearing of the wharf labourers' ease now pending before tho Arbitration Court should commence on 10th January, the item relating to overtime and pVeferenco to be dealt with first and. an interim award given during those proceedings. The offer to take the caso out of its turn was on the express condition that normal work should bo resumed on the wharves on or before Friday of this week. The conference adjourned to enable the watersiders to consider the proposal. '
