HILL CLIMBING
THRILLS AT KARORI SPILLS AND LOCAL KECOKDS. Over 1000 people, attracted by thrills Inseparable from motor-cycle hill-climbing, gathered on Saturday on Mr. Lewor's proportyj near Karori Park, for tho second contest under the Wellington Motor and Cycle Sports Club. They were not wholly disappointed in thrills, though tho track having been worn down, and better known, theso were not very frequent. H. Morgan (Greytown) in a final run at tho close of the day, took the hill at a hot pace, and was in the air as much as on the track. Three parts of the journey wore nevertheless covered before ho was thrown off by a heavy bump, and tlio machine continued alone, on its rear wheel, scattering spectators in something of a hurry before it turned over. A'o serious accidents occurred, and as many of the men had put in time learning tho track, better times wero recorded than on tho previous occasion. The best time in the amateur events was that of A. C. M'Kenzio, in 14 4-ssec, beating H. Morgan's best timo on the former occasion by 1 4-ssec. C. A.
