NELSON, 9th December.

The Nelson Harbour Board has decided to provide additional wharf and shed accommodation at Mapua at an estimated cost of £478 10s.

The lighting of the church steps by three clusters of five lights contained in globes and supported on iron standards has now been completed. The system is satisfactory. . . The Hon. G. J. Anderson, Minister of Mines and Marine, lias advised Mr. K. P. Hudson, M.P., that he will reach Greymouth on Saturday, and leave there on Monday for Westport, stopping en route at Reef ton for a brief period. He will meet a deputation from roadside parties at Westport on Tuesday evening, and hopes to leave Westport on Wednesday, calling at Murchison, and leaving Nelson by steamer in the evening.
