Negotiations; with tho supporters of Mr. P. F. Loughlin, ex-Minister of Agriculture, have been continued in the hope of bringing about a reconciliation in the Labour Party. Although no finality has been reached many Labour officials arc still confident that a method will bo found for averting a General Election. It is understood that informal discussions took placo between Messrs. Goodin and Gillies, and three mombei-3 of the Federal executive of th» Australian Labour Party. The "breakaways" demand as a basis of settlement the withdrawal of Labour. dictatorship, the permanent scrapping of Red rules, and the removal of Mr. Willis, Vice-President of the Execntiv« Council, and his secretary, Mr. Voight, from the scene of political activities
