TO STAND THEIR TRIAL
AUCKLAND BANKRUPTS.

AUCKLAND, This Day.
Charges under the Bankruptcy Act were preferred against Oscar Lorenzen and Albert Norman Chapman yesterday. They were charged with failing to keep proper books and accounts, with iitent to conceal the true state of their affairs, and with contracting debts without the expectation of being able to pay them. It was stated that the accused were adjudged bankrupts on 19tb August, when trading as the Newton Manufacturing Company, furniture makers. The unsecured debts were £3534. The accused commenced business in October, 1924, with £2o capital. Defence was reserved, and they wore committed for trial. Bail was allowed at £150 each, on their own sureties.
