TRAVEL BY AIR
SCOPE IN DOMINION
GREATER THAN IN BRITAIN
SIX ALAN COBHAM'S VIEWS,
'(United Press Association.—CopjrigEJ.) (Received Bth December, noon.}, ST. CATHERINES (Ontario),
7th December*
Sir Alan C'obham, in an interview on his entrance into Canada in the course of a lecture tour, said: "There is a greater opportunity for the development of aviation throughout the Dominion than there will ever be in tho Home country for the simple reason that, whereas in England we are handicapped by short distances and very bad visibility, and the lack of necessity for flying, in the Dominion you have vast distances to be covered, and as a rule good flying weather. Opportunity is proving that flying is the quickest means of transportation. The great hope of development in civil aviation in England and Scotland is the private owner, who will use an aeroplane chiefly for pleasure-flying, from one place to another, visiting friends."
