BEETHOVEN'S OPERA.
Many music-loverg had the opportunity last year of hearing the music i'rom the score of the "Magic Flute" (Mozart) and Act. 11. from "II Trovatore," by Signor Cesaroni and his students. This year's attraction will surpass anything given Le,fore, as,Signor Cesaroni has selected Beethoven's famous opera, "The Ruins o£ Athens," to be staged in costume. Wellington will be the first city of the British colonies to hear this stupendous work, ay the first and only London production was on sth March, 1846, when it was conducted by Mendelssohn.
