SEVERELY BUFFETED
E-EAMER KAMONA DAMAGED IN GALE.

The steamer Kamona, which reached Bluff from Westport on Sunday, experienced' a severo buffeting in the vicinity of Puyseour Point. One of the ship's boats was washed from the chocks on the top deck and smashed against a water tank. The provision safe was washed overboard and thrown back on the deck. The steering wheel was badly damaged, and the crew's quarters became untenable. The men had to take shelter in the engine-room. It was considered too dangerous to turn the vessel aud run for shelter, and she had to be hove to until the weather moderated.
