A BURGLAR TRAPPED,
How two women caught a thief redfiandcd was related in the Magistrate's Court to-day, when Frank Blackham, a seaman, aged 32, admitted stealing 10s in money, belonging to Louie Francis. Chief-Detective Ward told the Court that Mrs. Francis, who kept a. small confectioner's shop in Cambridge terrace, had had money stolen from the till three times in the course of the last fortnight. Sho fixed an alarm to tho till, and when the bell sounded last night she and a friend rushed out and found Blackham there. A ten-shilling note which had been in the till was lying on the floor. The two women promptly shut the door, called the police, and hold the thief there until he was placed under arrest. The accused last year served a sentence of six months' imprisonment for breaking, entering, and theft. "I just did it on the spur of the moment," said Blackham. Mr. E. Page, S.M., sentenced him to three months' hard labour.
