The inward Christmas mail rush has started with a vengeance. Yesterday tons and tons of letter and parcel i:;.-,;; vjzra taken ashore from the Tahiti, 2600 bags in all: 578 of letter mail and 194 of parcels for Wellington, 496 letter and 204 parcel for Auckland. 333 and 118 for Christchurch, 201 and 59 for Dunodin, 61 letter and parcel combined for Invercargill, and 81 for Taranaki. The Marama to-day brought 1409 bags, all for Wellington and the South Island: Wellington, 590 letter and 156 parcel bags; Christchurch, 276 and 67; Dunedin, 134 and 43; other centres, 219 bags of combined letter and parcel mail.
