Glentruin may be taken to Auckland for the big meeting at Christmas time. No horse looked brighter at Riccarton than Economist, and providing he stands the racing and training he should be a very payable proposition at the holiday meetings in the South. He failed to win at the C.J.C. Meeting, but he raced in a very encouraging manner. Considering that the nominations were not particularly numerous, the acceptances for the Takapuna Meeting, to be held next Saturday, are quite fair. No doubt they are quite large enough for this now notorious course. The officials of the dub have paid a good deal of attention to the track, having had it graded, etc., and it will be
!in the entry lists, while the southern sire, Solferino, will have a youngster claiming full relationship to Count Cavour among his representatives.
