OBITUARY
A NOTED OLD-TIME SEA
CAPTAIN.
(Received 22nd November, 2.30 p.m.) VANCOUVER, 21st November. The death has occurred of Major Gardiner Johnson, of Vancouver, a pioneer ship captain, well-known in Australia and New Zealand in the 'seventies, when he commanded vessels carrying immigrants to New Zealand. He played in the first cricket match in Vancouver.
