AUCKLAND, This Day. The Otahuhu Trotting Club's Spring Meeting opened to-day in fine weather. The track is in good order. There is a large attendance. Results: —
Introductory Handicap, of 300 soys; one mile and a half.—3 Red Denncs, scr, 1; 14 Amberite, 36yds behind, 2; 2 Sister Beatrice, 108 yds behind, 3. All started. Won by three lengths, half a length between.second and third. Time, 3rnin 45 4-ssec.
Mangere Handicap, of 300 soys; one and a quarter miles.---1 Great Peter, scr, 1; 3 Goldfinch, ■ 24yds behind, 2; Hi Moko Chief, scr, 3. Scratched: Speed King, Papuan, Gold, Bcll-o-Brass, Leewood, Final M'Kinney. Won by a length, with two and a half lengths between second and third. Time, 2min 58 ,l-ssec. •■
Onehunga • Handicap, of 350 soys; 2 miles.—2 Auto Machine, 60yds bhd, 1; 7 Beliance, scrj 2; 4 Lord Nepean, 24yds bhd, 3. Scratched :\ Anselm, Ben Lomond. Won, by a. length and a half, with.four lengths between second and third. Time, 4min 34 2-ssec.
