RIVAL TO CALIFORNIA?
HOPES FOR OIL IN ALBERTA. (United Press Association.—Copyright.) (Sydney Sun Cable.) (Received 19th November, 8 a.m.) VANCOUVER,, 18th Nov. An important strike of gas, indicating what may be a great oil well, has been made in the Turner Valley district, South-west Alberta. There i* much excitement over the development, and optimists' are hopeful that the field will be a rival of the Californian fields.
