HUTT RIVER BOARD

The monthly meeting of the Hutt River Board was held last evening. Present: Mr. W. T. Strand (chairman) and Messrs. .7. Mitchell, S. Clenfon, and W. H. Smith. The Progress League asked to be consulted before the memorial to the lato Mr. Laing-Meason was erected, so that the league might assist. The clerk -was instructed to inform the league when action was about to be taken. The Petone Borough Council asked that the engineer for the board Bhould meet the council's engineer to define the boundary between the River Board area and the Borough Council area, near the mouth o: the riyer. The request of the Council was referred" to the engineer for attention. It was decided to ask- the board's engineer to give immediate attention to the request of the Hutt County engineer for a conference on improvements to the rivei' in the Taita Gorge. , Permission was granted to a resident of Tennyson street, Petone, to make a right-of-way over the stop bank at the rear of her property, provided no spoil is removed from, the bank.
