SHEEPSKIN, HIDE, AND TALLOW SALES.
At tho foitnlghtly sales of sheepskins, hides, and tallow held in Wellington yesterday, n largo catalogue was submitted of all classes to a full' attendance of exporters, tanners, fcllnfongcrs, and the local trade. Sheepskins: Tho cataloguo comprised some very nice lots; values for , lialfbrecls were about on a par,-lliree-nunrterbrcds par to Mi easier, and other grades yu\ to V/--A per lb lowor than previous quotations. Saltles sold well, prices being 6d lower than lute rates. Hides: Thevo was a good domain! for well-conditioned parcels. Prices for heavies wore %& to %d per lb naaior; . light-weights '/id per lb lower, while mediums ruled firm at lato rates. Kip and yearlings- sold well up to lato rates, while calf woro shade easier. Tallow: Prices flrtu for Rood "mixed lols. Inferior parcols were sold at low rates. Tho following is the range of prices:— i Sheepskins.—Half bred, lOd, 13d; inferior and
badly damaged, 2d, 6 J/id; fine crossbred, 10% d, 12d; pelts, sd, B'/4d; medium-coarse crossbred, BV'd, 10% d; damp, salted, and green, 5s (id, lls; short half wools, 7d, lOHd; pelts, salted, Is lOd, 3s 7d; lambs, 6d, 12d; lambs, salted, la lOd, 4s; dead and damaged halfbred, S^id, 9Vid. ■
