In the Legislative Assembly, a private member's Bill providing for the removal of legal barriers to the admittance of women to public and professional positions passed all its stages. The Bill provides that women are required to resign from the Public Service upon marriage, and preserves the ban on barmaids imposed by the LieI easing Act.
