JTRST MEETING IN AUCKLAND.

AUCKLAND, This Day. For the first time in its history the Board of Studies of the New Zealand University is meeting in Auckland. Hitherto it has held annual sessions in "Wellington, but this year, in recognition of the opening of the new university buildings, the venue was transferred to Auckland. The session opened at the University College yesterday morning, the chairman (Professor H. W. Segar) presiding. There are sixty items on the order paper. Any legislative change's that may be decided upon will be submitted for the approval j of the new council of the University ' of New Zealand in February. The board has held regular annual meetings since 1915, but the present session will be the last under the existing constitution. On Ist January it will be remodelled in accordance with the recent Parliamentary legislation, which places the functions of the University Senate in the hands of a body to be called the Council and reconstitutes the Board of Studies aa an Academic Board.
