CONFERENCE RESOLUTIONS.

The biennial conference of the New Zealand Typographical Association concluded a three-day sitting on Wednesday evening. The greater part of the discussions centred round the proposals which were framed for a now award. Among the resolutions which were passed with instructions that they be forwarded to the Government were the following:— "That in the opinion of this conference the time is ripe for the revision of the existing pensions systems for the purpose of establishing a national superannuation scheme for all civilians the amount payable in all cases to be sufficient to permit a reasonable standard of comfort to the recipients." "That in order to properly clean printing offices, the Government be asked to have legislation framed under the Factory Acts, making provision for frequent cleaning of these offices by vacuum cleaners before or after working hours." "That the Minister of Labour be asked to gazette regulations under the Factory Acts, with the purpose of having mono-metal type satisfactorily discoloured before being handled by workmen." "That natural light bo insisted on for day work and adequate artificial light for night workers in printing offices."
