The following forecast was Issued at 9 a.m. today Jor the subsequent 24 hours:— Winds—Westerly winds, strong to gale at times, backing to southerly. Barometer—Unsteady, but rising everywhere shortly. Sens—Rough northward of Castlepoint; heavy elsewhere, mid probably very heavy on the West Const southward of Cape Egmont. Tides—Good generally. Warning signals for westerly gales are exhibited at Cape Maria Van Piemen, Tiritlri, Castleooint. Cape Campbell, Stepheu Island, Farewell Spit, and Nugget Point. Weather—Squally and changeable, with rain following generally: rivers In high flood in the South Island. D. C. BATIS.
