The New Zealand team was as follows:—C. Dufty, J. Saunders, H. Cole, H. Brisban", L. Brown, P. Delgrosso, W. Hall, J. Parkes, E. Herring, L. Mason, G. Gardiner, H. Thomas, and Menzies,
The visitors thoroughly deserved their victory, and showed greatly improved form, especially in the scrums, while the speedy backs frequently played their opponents' defence into difficulties. Salford, in the first spell, held its own, but after Dufty had kicked a penalty goal from' one of the many free-kicks awarded, the New Zealanders obtained the upper hand. Saunders, in a brilliant run in which Brisbane participated, secured a capital try, which Dufty failed to convert, the spell ending with tho scores: New Zealand 5, Salford 0.
Salford vigorously attacked after the resumption of the game,- and Meok scored a try, which Southward converted, equalising the scores. After this the Now Zealanders again assorted their superiority and gavo a magnificent exhibition of combination, in which forwards and backs were alike prominent, resulting in Delgrosso, Gardiner, and Dufty scoring trios, Dufty converting two. Meek attempted an individual run for Salford, but failed owiug to lack of backing up. Then Goro ran over for a good try, Southward converting. The visitors in the final stages persistently threatened Salford's lino, and were frustrated only by daring tackling. The game ended: New Zealand 18 Salford 10
