Jack Potts paced well at Addington on Tuesday and he may win over a short course at the meeting even if. a two-mile journey proves beyond him. Judge Hancock is trotting solidly, and may show up in some of the free-legged races at Addington next week. Holly Boy did not please the critics by his work at Addington on Tuesday. Deanwood, a new arrival from Australia, works well at Addington, but so far he has not been really extended. Oil Tuesday morning at Addington Sheik went two miles. Over the first mile and a half the Cup horse was not hard at it, but he came home the last half-mile in great style. He went on a further furlone. The Australian pacer put a lot of dash into his final effort. Although Nelson Derby was relieved of his Trotting Cup engagement he is still in work, and may be seen out at Addington in one of the short races. On Tuesday, on the Metropolitan track, Pedro Pronto, Peter "Bingeu, and Logan Chief set off together, followed closely by Peterwah. Before a round had been covered Peterwah broke, owing to a mishap to his harness, and he was pulled up. The three went on for a mile and it was quite the best work-out of the morning. Although the trio were not driven out, they came. over: the last furlong .it a fine speed, and Pedro Pronto finished in frout. Pedro Pronto looked a trifle sore when lie pulled up, but not nearly ko bad as most of the track-watchers expected to see him. Native Chief made many friends by the way he worked at Addington on Tuesday. He covered about a mile and three-quar-ters in good time, and what is more assuring, was quiet on the track and at the post. Peterwah is going great guns in his work, and is the fastest straight-out trotter at present in commission. Happy Rosa, who is now a hoppled pacer, appears to have settled down to the changed order quite well.
