SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGES AWARDED

TIMARTJ, 3rd November. Arising out of a collision between a cyclist and a motor-car driver in this district some months ago, a claim for damages was settled to-day in the Supreme Court. Douglas Christie, the cyclist, who lost a leg as a result of the collision, was awarded £1000 damages and £50 costs. Defendant was George William Brehaut. A counter-claim was dismissed without costs.
