IDEAL CENTRE
(Bt Telegraph.—Press Anode**.)
PALMEBBTON N., 2nd Nov.
"1 think the day is coming waea the agricultural and pastoral shows in the Dominion will resolve themselves into one or two main fixtures at the most suitable centres. Palmerstott North must always remain one of these, and this is where the Boyal Show should be held every second year, alternating with one South Island centre." Such was ths comment of Mr. B. D. D. M' Lean, of Maraekakaho. Hawkes Bay, a prominent stock breeder, who was interviewed to-day on various matters of agricultural and pastoral interest. Auckland, he stated, was too "out of the way 1' as a Boyal Show centre. It was too far to send stock thore from the lower half of ths North Island, and the risk of interruption in the lines of communication with .the Northern centre was far greater than was the ease in transporting stock to Palmerston North. "Here/ he said, "you have a first" class ground with splendid appointments. Auckland cannot bear an allround comparison with it. The Palmerston North show grounds are the most up to date in the North Island, and are ideally central for breeders." (
