NOISY WIRELESS SETS
"Wireless may be one of the marvels of the age, but that is no reason why people with loud speakers should open their windows' and by mishandling convert them into loud shriekers,". writes a correspondent ("Northland"). "In my neighbourhood we suffer from loud and prolonged nocturnal attacks from an ill-tuned wireless set on one side, and from a screeching instrument miscalled a* gramophone on the other. Cannot the Inspector of Nuisances put an end to the nightly racket? I am a lover of music, but 'quite honestly, my lawn-mower is capable of producing a more melodious sound than either this roaring, crackling wireless, or the atrocious purveyor of 'canned' discord. People who want to upset their own nerves with wifeless and gramophones should not hold nightly rehearsals to the annoyance of others."
