One defendant left the Magistrate's Court to-day, wearing a broad smile. He had been proceeded against by the Labour Department for faiilng to notify the secretary of a union that he ■was employing a non-unionist. The Magistrate (Mr. E. Page, S.M.), after hearing the defendant's explanation, fined him Is.
