In the year 1302 John Eaton married Catherine Vanduzen, and Daniel Eaton, the former's brother, married Mary Ann Schevener, at Hamilton, Ontario. The descendants of these two couples now number 6200 odd, of whom all but 800 are living. It is the boast of this family that not one of its members has ever seen the inside of a gaol or a poorhouse. On 17th July, at Hamilton, a picnic was held by over 5000 descendants of the brothers Eaton. Friends and acquaintances brought the number attending the picnic to over 10,000 person«-
