INDUSTRIAL DISPUTE.

An industrial dispute is being initiated by the New Zealand Federated Drivers and Related Trades Industrial Union of Workers, seeking to have made as parties the motor-bus proprietors and related employers throughout New Zealand. A 48-hour week, to be completed within six days, a spread of eleven hours to cover cases where broken shifts are worked, and reasonable time for meals, with nc4 more than five hours without a break for a meal, are sought. The minimum wages asked are:—Town and suburban motor omnibus and'service car drivers: Of vehicles with a seating capacity of not more than seven passengers, £5 5s per week; of vehicles with a seating capacity of eight and not more than fifteen passengers, £5 10s; of vehicles with a seating capacity of sixteen and not more than twenty-five passengers, £5" 15s; of vehicles with a seating capacity of over twenty-five passengers, £6; drivers of s.er- - vice cars and special cars engaged on country runs, £6; taxi-drivers, £5 ss; garage employees, £5 ss. Double pay is sought for Sundays and Christmas Day, Anzaft Day, and Good Friday. Three weeks, holiday on full pay is asked.
