MANAWATU SHOW
HEAVY BAIN OVEENIGHT,
(From Our Special Reporters.)
PALMEESTON N., This Day
After the fine day for the opening of the Manawatu Show, heavy rain fell last night and early this morning, and the outlook is not at all promising. The chief feature of to-day's proceedings is the judging of the sheop and cattle classes, for which the entries are above those of last year. To-day is a half-holiday in Palmerston North, and if the rain holds off there should be a large attendance.
The Governor-General and Lady Alice Fergusson visited the Show to? day. After being entertained at a luncheon by the association, His Excellency received an address of welcome in the presence of a large crowd. Tho address made fitting reference t» His Excellency's notable record of service to the Empire. To-night Their Excellencies aro being; entertained at dinner, and later they Will leave for the North.
