VALUABLE WORK

GIVING- BOYS A GOOD STABT.

At the weekly luncheon of the Wellington Rotary Club to-day, Eotariau Vossoler, in the course of a short talk on ''Boys' Work," said that one of tie movements which Rotary had attached itself to strongly the world over was boys' work and how best to help the boy along. There were a. number of excellent institutions engaged in such work, such as the V.M.C.A., the Boy Scouts, Boys' Institute, Stop-out Club, and others. Rotarians could help such institutions by taking a keen, active interest in them. The Boys' Committee of the Rotnry Club had visited these institutions. In making such visits, one was impressed with the good work now being done. Visits from more Rotarians would further encourage ami stimulate the movement. Mr. Vosse)cr referred to the "Big Brother movement of the V.M.C.A., which, ho said, would certainly result in much good; also the Boy Scout movement, the benefits of which were now universally recognised. What the Boy Scout movement wanted to-day more than anything else was from SO to «J0 men from 21, even to oO years of age to take up the work of scoutmasters or assistant:;. If Rotarians would endeavour to find a proportion of tiiese men from the members of their own family, or encourage likely men of the right type in their employ or among their acquaintances, they would lie doing something worth while, and would help' to justify the Rotary Club.
