DISCUSSION WITH MINISTER AND

EAILWAY BOAED,

A conference was held tills morning between the Acting-Minister of Kailways (the Hon. I\ J. Eolleston), the Bailvvay Board, and ' members of the Grand Council of the New Zealand Locomo.tive Engineers, Firemen, and Gleaners' Association for the purpose of discussing the question of the locomotive men's rates of pay, etc.

After the discussion, which lasted for about two hours, an adjournment was made to enable the Minister to discuss the matter with the Eailway Board. A further meeting will probably be held to-morrow.
