AUCKLAND, This Bay. A cable message is to be seat to the Bight Hon. J. G. Coates seeking his cooperation in the raising of £1,000 000 under the British Trade Facilities Act to construct a bridge across the Waitemata Harbour. The decision was reached by the Bridge Committee last evening. The secretary considered that there would bo no difficulty in obtaining tho money, but understood that Mr. Stanley Baldwin contemplated terminating the operation of the scheme under the Act next March. ■ "

It was decided to circulate for signatures a petition to Parliament requesting that all the steps necessary should be taken for tho construction of a bridge across the "Waitemata, as it was a work of national importance. It was also decided to wait upon the Minister of Public Works on his next visit to Auckland In discuss several features in connection with the proposed bridge.
