- Tuberculosis is a preventable disease, caused by the bacillus tuberculosis, and is the most universal scourge of human existence. It is a disease of civilisation and is most frequent where population is massed1 together. While there is a gsncral decrease in tuberculosis, duo to better living conditions and better understanding, it is still a notorious killer.
