LOADED LORRY SMASHED
STUCK ON EAILWAY LINE,
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) NAPIER, 13th October. A motor-lorry and its load of furnituro were badly smashed by a train at Aw"atoto this evening. The lorry wheels sank in some shingle and the power was not sufficient to move the vehicle. The driver heard a train coming and ran along the line in an endeavour to stop it, but was not successful in preventing a collision.
