CRICKET

REMITS FOR DOMINION CONFERENCE

OTAGO'S ATTITUDE,

(By Telegraph.)

(Special to "The Evening Post.") DUNEDIN", This Day

At a meeting of the Otago Cricket Association it was decided to instruct the delegates to oppose the proposal that temporary professional coaches be allowed to play in Plunket Shield matches.if they intended to reside for only four months in the district.

Regarding the suggestion from the "Wellington Association that umpires bo inter-changed for Plunket Shield matches, it was decided to inform delegates that the association approved of the suggestion, but felt it was impossible to carry the scheme out on account of the expense. It was decided to suggest that the names of four umpires from the number previously approved by the association should bo submitted to the association for selection before the matches.

It was decided to oppose the following notice of motion from Auckland Association: "That a Selection Committe of three should bo appointed for council matches, each of the threo being a representative of a different major association. As one major association will be without a representative in each season, a ballot shall be taken to decide in which order the associations shall be not represented in rotation."

Tho statement of a member that the best men, irrespective of what province they represented, should bo chosen seemed to be the general feeling of the meeting.
