PRISONERS SENTENCED
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day. Prisoners were sentenced by Mr. Justice Herdman this morning. Edward Albert Chiffings for an unnatural offence and indecency, was sentenced to one year's hard labour and four years' reformative treatment; Paddy Heath, a Maori, for breaking and entering, theft, and assault, causing bodily harm, to two years' imprisonment; William Leslie Edwards, for theft and forgery, to two years' probation; James Charles Thomas/ Keane, for forgery, three years' probation. Clement Murphy, now undergoing three years' reformative treatment for escaping from custody, was sentenced to two years' hard labour, to bo followed by two years' reformative treatment, concurrent with his present sentence. Reginald John Massey, for breaking and entering and theft, was sentenced to twelve mouths' hard labour, concurrent with a present . sentence.
