MR. BRUCE ARRIVES

REDISTRIBUTION OF WHITE PEOPLE

VITAL SUBJECT EOR EMPIRE CONFERENCE. .

LONDON, 12th October. Mr. Bruce, the' Prime Minister of Australia, and his party, looking fit, came to London to-day, after a rough Channel crossing, and wero met by Sir Joseph Cook and. othor officials, representing tho overseas and tho Imperial Government Departments. Replying to interviews, Mr. Bruce said that, of course, ho and all the delegates would have "lots to say if Canada raises the question of the rights of Governors-General, but I cannot anticipate the Conference and. say what our stand will be." Ho regarded migration and tho redistribution of the white population of the Empire as one of the most vital subjects for tho Conference.' Everything depended upon development, which would decide tho overseas rate and capacity for absorption. Ho thought the Empiro Marketing Board was doing useful work. The question of improved and faster shipping services for the carriage of produce would have to bo given the closest attention.
