. Imports of oranges aro undergoing the usual evolution. Australian navels are Hearing their close, and the first of the Australian valeneias (from New South . Wales) have just reached the Wellington .market. Californian navels are expected to take up the running in December. , In the meantime, however. California will be sending valeneias in competition with Australian valeneias. The first, shipment is expected about 24th ■ September.
Included will be Californian grapes and lemons. Calif ornian grapes generally arrive 'in September, October, and November. California!! lemons come practically all the year round, i When the embargo cut'them off, lemons were imported from as far away as ItsUy., The keeping quality of- the imported' lemon gives it an advantage overthe New Zealand grown, in house-holds,'where-it is kept as a stock item for occasional, use >as - health'or comfort. dictates. Pew people make a meal of lemons, so keeping quality-is important.
