NEW IRISH PARTY

Scenes of extraordinary enthusiasm greeted Captain William Bedmond, Thomas o 'Council, and other ex-Na-tionalist M.P.'s at Waterford, where a new Free State Opposition Party was initiated. Mr. Eedmond and his colleagues on Saturday were given a triumphal torchlight procession through the city, with street lamps garlanded and streamers across the roads. Many bands were present. Special trains poured in supporters from a largo area. Mr. Eedmond, before a crowded meeting, declared that tho.timo had como for Ireland to mako a fresh start. The traditional patriotism of Ireland must reassert itsolf in the form of a strong cohesive Opposition, prepared strictly to scrutinise tho present Government's policy, and be ready in the future to take over the rcinr of Government.
