ACCIDENT TO MOTOBING PARTY.

AUCKLAND, This Day.

A strange accident befel Mr. W. H. Dunn, of Auckland, and party while motoring along the edge of the Waikato Biver at Mercer on Sunday. The car left Narrow road and capsized into the river. The occupants extricated themselves with great difficulty. The car rested on tho hood in six or seven feet of water, but fortunately the Bide screens "were up. Mr. Dunn scrambled ont, followed by Mr. Stewart Findlay. Tho pair then rescued Mrs.- J. G. Cooper and her infant son, and Mrs. Dunn and two boys, aged six and four. One of the boys was cut through the wind screen breaking. Somo of the members of the party are still suffering from shock. The car was hauled out yesterday. It was not insured.
