FOOTBALL TEAMS WITHDRAWN

ACTION OF AUCKLAND SCHOOL.

(By Telegraph.) (Special, to "The Evening Put")

AUCKLAND, This Day.

A stir has been created in Bngby circles by the 'withdrawal of the Vermont Street School teams from the Auckland primary schools competitions. Brother Luke, the principal, stated that as he had decided to withdraw from the union ho was returning the A Grade Cup and Bupert Moore Shield, *

which were won last year by the Vermont Street seniors and juniors.

When Brother Luke was seen last evening he said he did not wish newspapers to make any statement!. Sometimo ago the union ruled that Vermont Street should enter A and B teams of equal strength, instead of concentrating the best football in one team. Brother Luke disagreed, and said that he had no intention of observing the ruling.
