MEAT EXPORTED OR IN STORE.

During the ten months' period, ly'ovcmbor, 1925, to AuEiist, 1926, inclusive, the quantity of New Zealand frozen.lamb that reached cool stores or was • shipped totalled 5,176,280 carcasses, as compared with 4,782,124 carcasses during tho same period last year. The corresponding figures for frozen mutton-are. 2,414,581 and 2.347,843 carcasses respectively."

In the following table thd first line shows actual shipments; the second line shows the amount loaded Into steamers not departed from New Zealand at 31st August of each year; and the third line shows the amount- of stocks on hand in stores In New Zealand on 31st August of each year. During the same ten months, the beef shipments, with the 1924-25 figures in parentheses, were: to London, 139,527 quarters (131,484); to West Coast ports of the United Kingdom, 106,698 quarters (79,365); to the Continent 113,884 quarters (85,018). On 31st August the stocks of beef in store In New Zealand Were 31,559 quarters, as compared with 204,431 quarters on 31st August of 1925.
