Strong south-vest to north-west winds hare prevailed, and, except on the Eatfc Coast, cloudy weather has ruled, with rain in the western and southern districts.

Warning signals for •westerly cales are exhibited at Cape Maria Van Diemen, Tiritiri, Castlepoint, Cape Campbell, Stephen Island, Fnrewell Spit, and Nugget Point. Weather—Unsettled' and squally weather, with rain following generally; heavy rain, with rivers flooded, in the West Coast and southern districts; indications for electrical disurbances in the South.
