DISASTROUS END TO JOY-RIDE

AUCKLAND, This Day.

A joy ride by a party of young people in a stolen motor-car at Onehunga, about 11 o'clock last evening, was attended by disastrous results. Tiie car, which was taken from the Royal Oak Corner, crashed into one of the buttresses of tho Mangero bridge and burst a two-inch water main. For a time tho water flowed freely over the road until the supply was cut off. The car was badly dauiagcd. None of the occupants was hurt.

Tho driver, aged 19, was subsequently arrested, and, along with another youth, appeared at the Onehunga Court this morning. Both wore remanded on bail.
