OLD NAVALS CLUB

ELECTION OF OFFICERS,

The annual meeting of Wellington Old Navals Defence Rifle Club was held last Thursday evening. President F. E. Franklyn presided over a good muster. The balance-sheet showed the club in a healthy position. A vote of thanks was extended to the retiring president (Mr. F. E. Franklyn), for the valuable services rendered by him to the club during his long term as president. The following were elected patrons for the coming year:—Patron, Captain E. D. Bell; vice-patrons, Miss Duncan, K. Duncan, I. Duncan, A. Duncan, His Worship the Mayor (Mr. C. J. B. Norwood), Colonel C. C. Cooper, Major E. Davey, Captain A. T. Hale Munro, Messrs. J. M. Murphy, C. Hodder, L. Drake, R. C. Collins, F. Lambert, E. T. Taylor, S. J. Manning, A. L. Johnson, A. J. Paterson, C. C. Odlin, and H. Pratley.

The following were elected officers for the coming year:—President, F. 0- Standidge; deputy-presidents, W. M'Bain and P. B. Goldfinch; honorary secretary, C. T. Lawton; honorary treasurer, P. Wright; honorary auditor, A. Guise (re-elected); trustees, President Standidge and P. Wright; handicapper, Deputy-President P. C. B. Goldfinch; selector, Deputy-President P. B. Goldfinch; sommittee, W. Conibear, R. Chapman, J. Pitt, C. M'Donald, and C. Mitchell; delegates to Wellington Rifle Association, President F. C. Standidge and Deputy-President V. B. Goldfinch.

Rifleman J. Alexander and Rifleman W. Harris were elected life members of the club by a -unanimous vote.
