HOCKEY CONTROL

MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETS,

, Members of the Management Committee of the Wellington Hockey Association met last evening, Mr. J. L. M'Alister presiding.

Mr. T. Brennan'was appointed manager of the Wellington team to play Canterbury in a challenge match for the New Zealand Shield at Christchurch on Saturday next. The team will comprise the following players:—Goal, Brennan; fullbacks, Hull, Spiers; halves, Joblin or O'Callaghan, MTJeod or Perrin; forwards, Dee, E. Lusty, M'Donald, Knowles, W. Hood. The Wesley Club was granted permission for a team to play at Christchurch against a Wesley team on 11th September. Permission was also granted for a senior team to play Carterton at Carterton on 18th September.

The following team will meet Manawatu at Palmerston North on Wednesday next: Goal, E. H. Boys (Wesley); full-backs, M'Alister (Huia), Perrin (Karori); halves, Ham ('Varsity), Crawford (Wellington), J. Lloyd (Karori); forwards, Taylor (Wellington) or Watkinson (Wesley), Roberts (Karori), Cooper (Karori), Gwilliam (Hutt), Judd (Hutt); emergencies, backs, Harland (Wellington), Francis ('Varsity); forward, Lewer (Karori) Final instructions to the team will be» given at the V.M.C.A. at 7.15 this evening. Mr. J. L. M'Alister has been appointed manager.
