STRATFORD MAIN TRUNK RAILWAY

STRATFORD, This Day.
At a meeting of the Progress League last night the following resolution was passed:—"The Stratford Progress League regrets that the Minister of Public Works has not been able to put a larger sum than £.180,000 on the' Estimates for the completion of the Stratford Main Trunk railway, and expresses the hope that the comparatively small sum will be much exceeded in ensuing years, and that the work will be pushed forward to completion with the utmost expedition."
Digging in his garden at the head of Lake Superior, an American boy lately hit on a brass bottle containing this note: "Fort Howard, February, 1830. Indians attacking. Ammunition running low. — J.D."-
