SUBSCRIPTIONS FALLING OFF.

(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.")

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.

On account of tho falling off in public subscriptions to the unemployment, fund, the executive decided yesterday that after this week the number of men employed on relief works should be reduced to fifty. The total number of unemployed last night was 350, nine fewer than the number on the books on Monday night of the last week. During the week ended last night there were 180 fresh applications. Nin-ety-eight were assisted by private work and 14 have been placed on Government work.
