I£ you are troubled with cramp, toy sleeping with a cake of camphor lit ttte pillow slip.
Simple aa it sounds, a. cold can be cured by not drinking any liquid whatever for 24 hours.
For grit in the eye, apply a drop or two of castor oil. It relieves the irritation and removes the grit. To get rid of the taste and smell of fish, put three to four tablespoonfala of vinegar into the water in which you arc washing the plates and silver.
To prevent suits from shining after frequent pressing, use two thicknesses of pressing cloth wrung out in water in which a little soap has been lathered. In using oranges for fruit salads, etc., if they are put into scalding water for a few minutes the white vrill adhere to the rind as it is pulled off, and leave the fruit clean for slicing.
When cooking a blanc mange mix a piece of butter with it while it ia boiling. It will then turn out of the mould, when cold, without any trouble, and will have a much glossier appearance. Dry scraps of stale bread in the oven till crisp and golden brown; then put them through the mincer, and in a few minutes you will have a jar of breadcrumbs ready for use. The mincer will need only wiping out.
If in doubt as to how much material to order for a garment, lay a bed-sheet, doubled, on the floor and place all you • pattern pieces on it as if preparing to cut out. You can then measure the width and length of material required.
